Hotel Am Markt - Munich

Fairly clean hotel, welcoming and exceptional employees at Check-out. Marvellous and brilliant location for our visit to Kunstareal a 10-15 minute walking distance from the property. Busy area.

Very good location, many cafes nearby. Taxi stand, bus stop.

Bad noise insulation, you can hear the next room talking.

The breakfast was nice and reasonably. The hotel staff was pleasant and courteous. Its location was great and charming in the heart of Munich. After long day I visited Der Pschorr for a couple of drinks.

Perfect location for short city trip, in pedestrianised area, minutes from all city sights. Although the rooms were very small, they were perfectly clean & comfortable, shower & toilet ensuite likewise.Restaurant attached was good for dinner pm. Be aware pubs & restraunts close comparatively early in this area, as it as a very big busy market & beer garden by day. This is an advantage if you want to have a bit of an early night! This hotel was excellent value for its location in the centre of the city, presuming you are out & about & not wanting to sit around inside!! Lots of eateries within minutes. Sbahn from Marienplatz takes you directly to & from Munich airport, takes 5-10 minutes to walk with cases from hotel. Breakfast was not available when we were there, but McDonalds around the corner do a very good one with great coffee & orange - before 10.30am!!! would return for city trip.

we were not told breakfast was finishing early on that particular day-however we had not booked in for breakfast. Rooms we had would be too small for anyone requiring space for sleeping & wash facilities. Perhaps you should then request a bigger one on booking? Just remember its a very old quaint hotel with excellent location & value for money!

Staying here was wonderful, especially the hearty breakfast each morning and the proximity to the Viktualmarkt, which made exploring so convenient.

bathroom is clean and spacious. Staff is friendly. Daily cleaning and change of towels.

It's a tight room, obviously it's been a long time, very modest breakfast.

The hotel location is perfect. You can have a breakfast at Markt just near by.

We need a refregerator. One of our bed matress was so soft.

The location was outstanding. It was perfect location to visit the oktoberfest and surrounding markets.

When I requested a room online, it mentioned adding a cot to a room for an extra fee. So I booked a single room and inquired about a cot. (Because why would you add a cot if you already had enough beds to provide....?) But when I arrived they said this was not possible (they did not read my inquiring obviously) and made me book a more expensive room. This should be made more clear on their info page.

Overall it is cozy, nice and clean. It is close to the market and close to all famous sites in the city, like the HB. The old gentleman at the reception is nice.

There is no curtain in the bathroom while its' window opposite to the building next to it. It is embrassing when taking a shower.

Excellent location: very close to all old town attractions. The room was clean and updated.

Noisy! Church bells were heard ringing non-stop until late evening and starting at approx. 7 in the morning. Some delivery trucks making noise early in the morning. Drunk neighbors making noise when returning to the room next door late at night. Double rooms are not convenient for couples: two single beds separated and positioned in different parts of the room.

Great Location, Unique Charm

The location near Marienplatz was fantastic! The cleanliness of the rooms stood out, and the staff was helpful, offering great local dining recommendations. For future guests, try the nearby market. It's a gem! Breakfast can be improved, so arrive early to get the best options.
